We are thrilled and very honoured to announce that Laruga, one of the best Ashtanga Teacher, will be in Torino for the second time!

Laruga Glaser has been practicing Ashtanga yoga continuously for over 28 years. Starting at the beginning of her 20s, Laruga has made more than 15 trips to Mysore and is on a mission to continue to learn and grow as a student as well as a teacher. 

She is one of the few in the world who have been given the distinction of being certified to teach up to Advanced B, which is not easily given and takes many years to earn. 

Through it all, Laruga teaches as an act of deep sharing and love for what yoga develops in each individual, facilitating space to open, challenge, and inspire those to realize their inherent potential, and has been personally invited all over the world to do so.

WORKSHOP DETAILS

MYSORE STYLE - FRIDAY AND SATURDAY MORNING

Mysore style differs from the usual way of teaching yoga. The class is not “led” as a whole, but rather all instruction is one-on-one within the group class setting. Students practice their own portion of the Ashtanga sequence of asanas at their own pace. The teacher assists each student individually by giving physical adjustments & verbal instruction.

WORKSHOP ARM BALANCE AND FLOATING - SATURDAY 14.00 LIMITED SPACE AVAILABLE

In this workshop we will explore how to connect to our inherent strength. Making connections to the body/mind, we will explore how to awaken, align and improve our stability. Through the context of the Ashtanga Yoga practice, and beyond, this will be an inspiring workshop in playing with edges and learning to lean on faith, understanding we are ultimately stronger than we believe.

Mysore Style Conference and Q&A - SATURDAY 16.30

Laruga will be hosting an old school shala type Conference. She will be talking about her Ashtanga journey – detailing her own specific points of view and observations on Ashtanga Yoga.

LED PRIMARY SERIES - SUNDAY 7.30

For the complete Ashtanga Yoga experience, the Primary Series will be instructed with the traditional vinyasa method emphasized and counted in Sanskrit from start to end. Here you will come in direct contact with flow of the practice uninterrupted. Prior Ashtanga Yoga experience and proficiency are recommended. Please, no beginner students.

Inclusive Intermediate Second Series Led Class - SUNDAY 9.30

Intermediate Series, otherwise known as nādī śhodana, meaning nervous system cleansing, builds upon the culmination of energy and purification within the practitioner built from the foundation of Primary Series. With deeper backbends and forward bends as well as arm balances, the Intermediate series integrates the use of opposing forces to garner greater unity and strength, both mental and physical, opening the internal light of awareness within each individual. 

Whether new to the practice of Intermediate Series, or an experienced practitioner, this workshop will invoke new insights and inspire your already existing practice. Please, no beginner students.

Galleria Umberto Benappi deals with modern and contemporary art. It is based in a former artist workshop inside the Corbetta Bellini di Lessolo palace, an historical and unique building in the centre of Turin. 

Bring your own mat and necessities for your practice. 

Unfortunately, Showering is not possible on the gallery spaces.
